Previous GSA Award Recipients

The GSA awards three medals for outstanding contributions to the field of genetics. These are the Thomas Hunt Morgan Medal for lifetime contributions, the Genetics Society of America Medal for outstanding contributions in the last 15 years, and beginning in 1999, the George W. Beadle Award for outstanding contributions to the community of genetics researchers.  In 2007 the GSA established the Elizabeth W. Jones Award for Excellence in Education in recognition of geneticists who have or have had a significant and sustained impact on genetics education.  For 2008, the Novitski Family established the Novitski Prize, to honor Edward Novitski and to recognize extraordinary creativity and intellectual ingenuity in solving significant problems in genetic research.
